I have been extremely remiss in posting to this blog. It's a long story. Last year, I had a crazy medical situation, and I kept thinking, "I have to blog about this because it's all stuck in my head and I need to get it out." And I never did, and in my head it remains. But I let the blog lie mostly fallow while all that festered.
Enough of that.
Most of you probably know that Judah is deploying to Afghanistan in a few weeks and is kind of all over the place training right now. So I'm trying to resuscitate the blog to keep track of some of Isaac's moments. We're not sure what kind of Facebook access he'll have when he randomly does get Internet access once he's in country. But he should be able to check out the blog, so here we are!
So ... without further ado, here's today's story.
Today, after work, we went to one of the local village centers and tried to eat at the bagel place. Turns out it closes in the early afternoon -- and that that village center is falling apart. The only place open was a pizza place, so we had a slightly less healthy than anticipated dinner. When we left, the playground, which had been overrun with kids when we arrived, was empty, so we played for a while. I snapped this picture with my phone. Shortly thereafter, Isaac looks at me and goes, "Mommy, I pooped."
This week, he moved up into the next class, and he's been wearing underwear at school. He was wearing underwear at the playground. We didn't have the diaper bag. I didn't even mention that my car is totally broken down and about to be replaced, so I've been driving a rental. Is "momprovisation" a word? I hope so, because that's what we did. We all survived, but honestly, I gained even more respect for my friends who have been doing cloth diapering. Just sayin'.
