So I was looking at my blog the other day and thinking how I have ended up largely ignoring it since I went back to work. This made me sad, especially since it was kind of acting as Isaac's digital baby book. Then I was thinking about it some more and realizing that I had instead been spending a lot of time on Facebook and that I mentioned a lot of what was going on with Isaac there. So last night I went through my Facebook wall and tracked down my status updates having to do with him from September 2008 until the end of 2009. (I lost a couple here and there because after I had just about finished copying and pasting them all here after about four hours working on it, the entry disappeared. But I mostly re-gathered them. There's a lot missing, too, since much of what I have posted about Isaac on FB has been in the form of uploaded photos with comments or videos. But I'm going to try to get the videos up here soon, too. Anyway, let's go back in time ...

May 15, 2009 at 3:00pm
Sarah thanks everyone again for all the birthday wishes! Surprise cake from my friends at work, home early enough to see my boy awake for a couple of hours, tasty dinner from Judah and lots of phone calls, emails and messages. Who could ask for more?

June 8, 2009 at 7:05pm
Sarah need a reprieve from the crazy Jon & Kate commenters. Especially the one who just said that in-vitro babies weren't meant to be and are unwanted by God. 1) J&K didn't do IVF. 2) My IVF-made baby and I disagree with the sentiment. *seethes*

Sarah is remembering that at this time last year, I was past my due date and walking around in high-90s temperatures. My how things have changed.
June 18, 2009 at 9:03am
Sarah looks awesome: Desperately needing to do laundry, I am basically dressed like a Best Buy employee (blu polo and jeans). Then, I overestimated Isaac's patience and had to leave the mall after having only one eyebrow threaded.
June 19, 2009 at 8:14pm
Sarah is in full-on nosalgia mode. A year ago right now, we were waiting for contractions to intensify enough to go to the hospital. We left at midnight, and Isaac was born a little over 12 hours later. Fastest. Year. Ever.

July 25, 2009 at 9:47am
Sarah is editing pics from the shoot with the Lipcons and jamming to CSNY while Isaac naps and Judah makes ribs. Mmmm, ribs.
July 26, 2009 at 1:48pm
Sarah is glad Isaac decided to sleep until 7:15 after initially waking up at 5:15, especially since I was up until 2.
August 3, 2009 at 10:17am
Sarah is still astounded at the magnitude of Isaac's meltdown this morning. And how unbelievably happy he was after he finally calmed down and had a bottle.
August 4, 2009 at 10:19am
Sarah is spending the weekend with the munchkin while Judah has drill AND takes a 12-hour black-belt pretest. I suspect we will have a more restful weekend.
August 7, 2009 at 5:15pm
Sarah and Isaac wish Judah the best of luck in the black-belt pre-test today!
August 8, 2009 at 8:17am
Sarah votes "strongly disapprove" on the question: Should toddlers willfully skip afternoon naptime?
August 8, 2009 at 6:27pm
Sarah Isaac votes "strongly approve" on the question: Should toddlers willingly skip afternoon naptime?
August 9, 2009 at 3:47pm
Sarah OK, the next skill we need to work on with the kidling: balance. Yesterday morning, he bonked his head on the bed frame, hard. Day care just called, and he fell on the playground and scraped his FACE. (He's OK, just more banged up.) This walking stuff is hard work.
August 11, 2009 at 11:13am
Sarah Isaac has a new dance move; I call it the running baby.
August 14, 2009 at 8:11am
Sarah is excited to see her boys at lunchtime and one of her fabulous nephews (all the way from California!) at dinner today.
August 19, 2009 at 10:33am
Sarah is amused that Isaac got a survey from the insurance company. Perhaps I shall fill it out with crayons.
August 20, 2009 at 9:30pm
Sarah , Judah and Isaac are headed to Chesapeake Beach for Sophie's birthday party.
August 23, 2009 at 11:05am
Sarah went to the zoo with Isaac and Judah. Oh, wait, no, sorry, it was the kiddie haircut place the Saturday before school starts. Whoops.
August 29, 2009 at 7:00pm
Sarah is hoping for a good night's sleep tonight maybe. 4 a.m. freakout last night, 1.5-hour meltdown the night before that, and I couldn't sleep on Sunday night. Yawwwwn.
September 2, 2009 at 9:07am
Sarah Ducks Ducks Ducks Ducks! I even inadvertently dressed the kid in tie-dye for the occasion. His Oregon-wear is in the laundry, so Eugene-wear will have to do.
September 3, 2009 at 11:08am
Sarah pulled some ninja-mommy moves and got Isaac from asleep in the car to asleep in the crib without him waking up. That has worked exactly one other time.
September 6, 2009 at 3:31pm
Sarah Surprise! Isaac has a new teacher I didn't know about. Surprise! My registration is expired and I got pulled over for the first time (except for that foot cop incident, but I don't count that). Reboot, reboot!
September 14, 2009 at 10:51am
Sarah almost forgot to write Toddler Thursday for Charm City Moms for tomorrow. That wouldn't have been good.
September 16, 2009 at 11:08pm
Sarah 12 miles, ice bath, nap, hot shower, pizza, playing with the boys, Muppets on YouTube, Ducks on ESPN at a reasonable hour for the East Coast. Pretty good Saturday is what I'm saying.
September 19, 2009 at 5:46pm
Sarah Did portraits with the Kirkmans this morning, Costco and lunch with the boys this afternoon, now the Ravens game. It's been a fab Sunday, except for the part where I have to be at work in two hours because of the Emmys. *yawwwwn*
September 20, 2009 at 6:09pm
Sarah wonders if anyone happens to be available to watch Isaac for, ohhh, the entire day on Saturday so I can watch Judah's black-belt test. (I delayed too long on setting up the details with one of his teachers, and now she's busy.)
September 23, 2009 at 10:05am
Sarah clarifies: If anyone who lives nearby happens to be available to watch Isaac from about 7:45-4 on Saturday so I can watch Judah's black-belt test, let me know! (Yes, I know it's a long shot, but I have to at least try ...)
September 23, 2009 at 3:16pm
Sarah Only my child could injure himself with a book. And here I was, hoping he hadn't inherited my flaily ways ...
September 24, 2009 at 11:52am
Sarah thanks Kit for coming over tomorrow to watch Isaac so I can go see Judah kick butt at his black-belt test! (And to Becky and Beth for their offers of help, too.)
September 25, 2009 at 10:01pm
Sarah wishes she knew for sure whether she is going on the radio in the morning since it involves getting the small person ready and at school and herself back home by 7:45 a.m. if so.
September 28, 2009 at 10:38pm
Sarah is pretty frustrated that she lost her morning playtime with Isaac for a radio appearance that is evidently not happening. Grrr ...
September 29, 2009 at 8:07am
Sarah recognizes that by blogging about parenting, one opens oneself up to criticism, but I swear this one guy didn't even read what I wrote. *deep breaths*
October 1, 2009 at 5:42pm
Sarah wants to go home right now and hug my boys.
October 5, 2009 at 12:22pm
Sarah was working from home trying to fight off a stomach bug, but daycare just called and Isaac is getting a rash, so guess who is going to the doctor!
October 7, 2009 at 11:10am
Sarah Isaac's been asleep for three hours, with nary a peep, then suddenly over the monitor, we hear: "Hiiiii-iiiiiii!" Then, nothing. We haven't laughed that hard in a while.
October 7, 2009 at 10:03pm
Sarah Isaac time -- work -- packet pickup -- work -- home -- pack everything for the race!
October 8, 2009 at 7:28am
Sarah For some reason, I thought the canines, since they're pointy, would hurt less coming in. Go fig.
October 8, 2009 at 11:33pm
Sarah is getting antsy, waiting for Judah and Isaac to get here so I can go get settled in with the team for tonight's party and tomorrow's half-marathon!
October 9, 2009 at 3:09pm
Sarah thinks it was pretty funny that Isaac and I knew two-thirds of the people in the waiting room at the pediatrician's office.
October 13, 2009 at 1:32pm
Sarah Is at the airport. Man, we have a lot of stuff.
October 15, 2009 at 6:20am
Sarah Some day, Isaac will fly from east coast to west without a Major Vomit Event, but today is not that day. But we are HERE!
October 15, 2009 at 2:59pm
Sarah is blogging Survivor while the boy, who has already thoroughly charmed Grammy Ann and Grandpa Fred, naps. Then, time to go see Grandpa Mike and Grandma Peggy.
October 16, 2009 at 1:12pm
Sarah is going to the Salem Carousel this morning. Horsies galore!
October 20, 2009 at 11:56am
Sarah and Judah are on their way to Portland, and Grammy Ann is babysitting. Everyone wins!
October 21, 2009 at 12:23pm
Sarah Walking around UO with the boy in the stroller and wondering if I'd run into my little sister between classes sure made me realize: My, how things have changed.
October 23, 2009 at 5:51pm
Sarah The boy is taking his first nap since Friday -- hallelujah!
October 26, 2009 at 1:13pm
Sarah Oh boy. Two confirmed cases of H1N1 at Isaac's daycare, but at least we haven't been around there for a few days. I'm hoping no one on the planes had it, though.
October 28, 2009 at 9:04am
Sarah I think I am going to be able to get out of here in time to go to the Halloween parade at Kindercare. Eeeeeee!
October 30, 2009 at 2:42pm
Sarah is superbly bummed that the parade was this morning, since they asked me three times this week if I was coming to the parade at 4. But I got to watch the class eat cookies in their costumes, and Isaac managed to smear Rice Krispy Treat all over my clothes.
October 30, 2009 at 5:28pm
Sarah gets home from the gym and from outside the house can hear Isaac screaming. Get inside, and it turns out he is laughing hysterically. Biggest. Whew. Ever.
November 3, 2009 at 8:04pm
Sarah Isaac is hanging with Grandma Bel today. Hooray for random awesome Southwest sales!
November 6, 2009 at 11:17am
Sarah Dear He Who Will Not Nap: You're going to regret this!
November 8, 2009 at 10:10am
Sarah is very proud that Isaac was so cooperative during his (follow-up, nothing-to-worry-about-folks) chest CT today. The tech said kids his age usually have a hard time staying still enough, but he was a little trouper while I babbled at him about his adventure on the airplane a few weeks ago, and they got all the pictures they needed. Whew!
November 11, 2009 at 10:19am
Sarah loves being at the doctor's office for two hours and 40 minutes and spending only 8 of those minutes with a doctor.
November 12, 2009 at 6:55pm
Sarah got more than three consecutive hours of sleep for the first time in over a week. Unfortunately, it was still only five total, but I'll take it.
November 17, 2009 at 9:07am
Sarah is not sure how to feel about the fact that if you do a Google image search for goofy parents, a picture of me and Judah is the No. 2 result. I'm choosing to be amused; Judah thinks we need to aim to be No. 1.
November 23, 2009 at 10:55am
Sarah is thankful for an awful lot of things.
November 25, 2009 at 11:23am
Sarah wishes both her boys were feeling better. Judah's got a major head cold, and Isaac's got a wacky tummy. :(
November 27, 2009 at 10:16am
Sarah bought Isaac a toy with no off switch. My bad.
November 27, 2009 at 5:52pm
Sarah Thanksgiving II was a rousing success, both boys are finally feeling better (and they got haircuts), and the house is still clean. Woo, Sunday! Oh, and GO RAVENS!
November 29, 2009 at 8:25pm
Sarah The boys are napping, and I'm setting up for our holiday card pics. Whee!
December 6, 2009 at 11:51am
Sarah thinks it's the sweetest thing ever when Isaac hugs the cats, especially when they actually let him.
December 8, 2009 at 12:23pm
Sarah just watched Isaac turn around in circles until he got dizzy and fell down laughing.
December 12, 2009 at 4:14pm
Sarah is the mother of a one-and-a-half-year-old! Holy moly!
December 20, 2009 at 10:28am
Sarah left work, party at the neighbor's, boy's in bed in polar bear PJs, time to wrap a couple last gifts and watch White Christmas. YAY!
December 24, 2009 at 8:27pm
Sarah Happy Christmas! The boys are napping. I think they might have the right idea ...
December 25, 2009 at 12:10pm
Sarah feels, for not the first time this year, like the luckiest girl in the world. Merry Christmas, y'all!
December 25, 2009 at 10:48pm
Sarah is thinking we're entering that stage of not dining out with the kidlet. So who wants to babysit? ;)
December 26, 2009 at 2:15pm
Sarah just realized Isaac's room is painted almost the exact same color as my Savage sky blue backdrop.
Tue at 8:39pm
Sarah got home in time to play blocks *and* eat dinner with the boys. Here's to more of that in 2010!
Hee hee hee, awesome!
