101 in 1,001: Three days left

All righty. As my 1,001 days swoop to a close, I'm trying to get a few more of the things completed. (I'm nothing if not deadline-oriented.)

21) Go to a rock-climbing gym and try the wall. -- I did this yesterday. Judah and I went to Earth Treks for open climb and each did three climbs. Unfortunately, I totally psyched myself out and didn't make it to the top any of the times, but I would totally do it again. (And in my defense, I'd had bloodwork twice, so my arms weren't at their peak condition for clutching a wall.)

100) Watch the extra features on the Freaks and Geeks special edition set. -- I also did this yesterday. Dug out the set and watched both discs of special features. Oh, how I love that show. Watching all the deleted scenes and raw footage and auditions and stuff sure reminded me of that!

1) Write a letter to Granddaddy.

2) Take three hot yoga classes in one week.

3) Make creme brulee.

4) Take a photography class. [Took a How to Use the Digital Rebel class at BetterPhoto.com in September.]

5) Crochet something from a pattern. [Made a crappy scarf in January 2006. And one without a pattern that was better.]

6) Participate in a Habitat for Humanity project.

7) Organize a group to take part in a Habitat for Humanity project.

8) Write a trips story for my section. [Update: Moot. No such thing (trips story, I mean) exists anymore.]

9) Hike the Shenandoahs again.

10) Run a mile without stopping. [Update: Completed 7/6/2005!]

11) Take a machine-based Pilates class.

12) Score more than 2.5 million points in Bookworm (action edition). [Completed 12/23/2004, scored 3,654,810 points.]

13) Sing karaoke in public.

14) Work out at least 30 minutes a day for five days a week for at least four consecutive weeks.

15) Do one full pullup.

16) Read One Hundred Years of Solitude. [Completed 1/11/2005.]

17) Hike the Billy Goat Trail without fear.

18) Learn to make crispy tofu teriyaki. [Update: Tried in mid-February2005 and failed. Next time it should work, though.]

19) Go to Key West.

20) Take a vacation to New England.

21) Go to a rock-climbing gym and try the wall. [Completed Sept. 15, 2007]

22) Climb to the top of the wall at the rock-climbing gym.

23) Go on a trip with my best friend, Kim.

24) Run a whole 5K. [I did the Marine Corps Marathon Oct. 29, 2006, and I'm quite sure I ran more than 3.1 miles, even if it wasn't consecutive. I'm more than satisfied.]

25) Do three whole pullups.

26) Travel to someplace in Europe.

27) Go to a Team in Training meeting. [Attended the 1/13/2005 meeting.]

32) See another one at the Recher.

33) See another one at the Rams Head Tavern.

34) And Rams Head Live, just for good measure.  [Saw Balkan Beat Box and Matisyahu in February 2006.]

35) Learn to play a song on the piano. [I'm claiming "The Entertainer," as of 2/25/2005.]

36) Give bangs another try. [I'm not sure the bangs I got today (1/6/2005) count, but I asked for bangs, so I am counting them anyway.]

37) Fill one of my CM scrapbooks.

38) Volunteer at the local elementary school. [Update: I think I'm going to count organizing Adopt a Family for three Christmases in a row, contacts I made through an elementary school near work.]

39) Walk a half-marathon. [Update: I'm signed up for the Mayor's Midnight Sun Half-Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska on 6/18. Completed 6/18/2005 in 3:10:55!]

50) Get my driver's side window mechanism checked out.

51) Host Kate for a visit. [Update: Working on the folks.]

52) Bowl a 150 or higher. [Completed on my birthday 2005 -- bowled a 169 (and a 134!)]

53) Send my behind-schedule swap CDs. [This was code for sending the circle journal, which I have finally done.]

54) Make a stir fry with chicken, broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts and snap peas. [Update: Done in spring 2007.]

55) Eat a serving of snap peas raw.

66) Fly a kite.

67) Swim in a natural body of water that's not an ocean.

68) Swim in the Atlantic again.

69) Find a swimsuit that fits and won't be susceptible to falling off in waves. (*ahem*) [Update: OK, I'll claim this one done thanks to the suit I bought before our Dominican Republic trip.]

70) Find another UO baseball cap that actually fits my head. [Update: Tried in August 2005 at UO Bookstore. Not satisfied with purchase. Another update: I love my Marine Corps Marathon hat purchased in October 2006. That'll do!]

77) Refill water bottle at work for two weeks instead of buying new each day. [Completed in November 2006, using my Marine Marathon bottle. Now I just need to continue filling it instead of just not drinking water at all!]

78) Find and somehow archive old college emails of interest. [Moot. They were saved to my AOL account, which went bye-bye a while ago.]
